The Importance of Mindset

If you are on a journey of self-discovery, you will probably by now be aware of the importance of mindset, and why it is important to become aware of the chatter in our subconscious minds. We often talk about people's mind blocks, the sort of things that hold us back from living the amazing lives we are meant to live!

Do you know what your blocks are?  Do you know what it is that stops you in your tracks and prevents you from moving forward?

 These blocks very often stems from fear - fear of being alone, fear of being rejected, fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of getting hurt, fear of disappointing yourself or others, and sometimes even fear of success.

Your blocks might also seem like a lack of confidence.  However, ask yourself the question, why do you have a lack of confidence?  What sits behind it?  Is it feelings of "I am not good enough", "I am not worthy", "I do not deserve"?  Or worse - "I do not love and accept myself the way I am"?

And then it is possible of course that wanting to be perfect could stop you in your tracks - but again - what sits behind the need to be perfect?  Seeking the approval of others? 

The starting point.....

So the starting point of discovering your blocks is this - do you know your ultimate goal, your vision, your passions and your purpose? If any of these are unknown or unclear, if you do not know for certain who you are, who you want to be and to whom, then that would be the place to start.

In finding the clarity, you will be confronted with the things holding you back, and have the opportunity to deal with it.

It is impossible to deal with what is unknown to you.  If you are being stopped in your tracks, I encourage to, rather than lose trust, momentum, or simply give up, start digging and dig deep. And once you find the blocks, be aware of your subconscious minds limiting thoughts challenge them. If you're riddled with negative thoughts that prevents you from achieving your goals, then start rewiring your thoughts into positive thoughts.

It is possible to rewire your subconscious mind when you're consciously aware of the negative thoughts. 

You have the ability to change those thoughts into positive thoughts. You are in control of your mind.  If not you, then who?  It does take a conscious effort of telling your brain constantly to think differently, but the more often  your subconscious mind is reminded of the opposite, the more will it take those thoughts as truth, and before you know it a thought that starts with an "I can't" will change into "I can" or "I will".

This can be done by various methods like visualization, affirmation, and meditation.  I will go into more detail in future articles on these methods. However, the next time you have a thought such as "I can not" change it to "I can" and see what happens.

Once you are aware of certain repetitive negative beliefs, repeat the positive sentences constantly - like first thing when you wake up, when you brush your teeth, when you're in the shower, or on your way to work, before going to bed.  As many times as you possibly can during the day. You can even record the affirmations on your phone and listen to it repeatedly, and as you hear the affirmation, visualize it, feel it emotionally, believe it, even feel on a physical and a cellular level.

If you keep doing this over time, your subconscious mind will accept this as your new belief or truth. Try it. I know it works. I've proven it to myself numerous times.
